Senior Stylist & Buying Lead

True Store is looking for an exceptional senior fashion retail professional to join in a key leadership role spanning sales, styling, buying and retail operations.

This is not a conventional retail management position.  It is an opportunity for someone commercially astute, fashion-literate and highly motivated to work with our small passionate team and play a meaningful role in the continued evolution of the business.

The Role: 

  • High-level in-store sales and personal styling
  • Clienteling and relationship management
  • Buying support and range planning
  • Management of the New Zealand designer portfolio
  • Supplier and showroom coordination
  • Sales leadership and team development
  • Visual merchandising
  • Commercial reporting and performance analysis
  • Maintaining exceptional service and presentation standards

The right person will be equally confident on the shop floor and behind the scenes - someone who loves selling, understands product and can balance an elevated client experience with strong commercial judgment and operational discipline.

You will bring:

  • Significant experience in premium fashion retail
  • A strong personal aesthetic and sophisticated styling ability
  • A genuine love of selling and developing long-term client relationships
  • Excellent clienteling and customer service skills
  • Commercial awareness and a clear understanding of sales performance

Experience in fashion buying for  premium multi-brand retail would be highly regarded.

This role offers the opportunity to:

  • Work closely with the founder of an established premium fashion business
  • Influence buying, merchandising and collection planning
  • Attend showings, buying appointments and industry events
  • Develop relationships with leading international and New Zealand designers
  • Collaborate with the marketing and brand team on launches, campaigns and activations
  • Help shape the continued evolution of the True Store client experience
  • Grow into a significant long-term leadership position within the business

Previous premium fashion or retail experience is preferred.
