STAFF STYLE | Liv's Edit

You may have spotted our girl Liv on the move with boxes in tow - carrying out one of her many important operational matters. She's a busy lady, managing our Inventory and Brand Coordination to deliver beautiful new pieces to the shop floor and website on a daily basis. 

She is a magician behind the scenes - so it's only right you get to know a bit about her; her infectious smile, her down to earth nature and relaxed approach to styling. 

 

I am the Inventory and Brand Manager for True. To put it simply, I have the first eyes on inventory when it arrives; ensuring it’s exactly what we ordered before loading it into our software and publishing to our online store. It’s then my duty to deliver it to the shop floor and find a place for it to live out the back, so the stock room or the office is where you’ll usually find me. Some days definitely feel like Christmas, opening all the boxes and seeing what the buyers have curated. Plus, if I'm lucky, first dibs! 

 

Before True, I studied a communications degree at Massey University in Albany after growing up in Cambridge. I then jumped on a one way flight to London; before even receiving my final exam result. Luckily it came through! I spent 2 years in London working a range of odd jobs before a stint at the Ministry of Justice on my return home.

 

I've never been a fussy dresser; effortless is key for me as I live a pretty chill lifestyle and feel my best when I'm comfortable. I like my pieces to be timeless and work back together really easily. I'm all about the capsule wardrobe and have a list of items to work away at getting. 

My most recent purchase was the Róhe Off White Jeans! A new style of denim was one of the items on my list - so I was excited to pull these out of the box; a light colour makes them feel a little more dressed up and I could immediately tell they looked like a nice, relaxed fit. I tried them on, slept on it and came in the next day 100% on my purchase decision. Plus they’re a bit of a staff staple at the moment! Shan & I both showed up wearing them today!

 

I love being across the stock and what's coming in; Shan and the other girls may come to me with a customer inquiry and it's great when you feel like you have the perfect suggestion. My go to brands in store are definitely Róhe, Caitlin Crisp, Samsøe Samsøe and the new range of Birgitte Herskind is amazing.

 

 

Playing netball with my (competitive) social team, trying out a new work out or just spending time with my girlfriends. We like to book weekends away together or to catch up over cocktails and pizza; however I'm saving for European summer travels at the moment so some of that is hold!

What is your biggest challenge when styling yourself?

Dressing for my boobs. Can I say that?! I see cute little tops and I know that often, it’s just not gonna work for me - that’s the reality! But I'm not afraid to size up in that area to best suit my shape. Plus I’ve enjoyed finding some fitted styles in fabrics that still flatter me from Samsøe Samsøe, such as the Everly Scoop Top.

 

Items that complete my ultimate capsule wardrobe! A nice bag; I'm thinking the Blue Print Scrunchie from Yu Mei and some everyday earrings from Charlotte Penman.
